ANNOUNCEMENTS

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Join us at the B.E.A.C.H.

Become Energized and Active at Christ’s House!

Our after-school program runs from 2:30–5 p.m. Children will be picked up at area schools or dropped off in the Narthex by their parents. A snack will be provided and then off to homework time. We will help each child complete their homework, study their spelling words, and enjoy a few books. After homework time, children may choose from a variety of special classes. These classes may include arts and crafts, knitting, gardening, singing and dancing, bells, or drama. We will offer Christian education classes for ages 3 to adult from 5–6 p.m.

We will then serve a family-friendly meal followed by a family-friendly Worship Service from 6–7:30 p.m. Nursery will be provided from 5–7:30 p.m. Children and families from all communities are encouraged to join us!

Catch the Wave!

Looking for something fun to do on Thursday afternoon? Well… catch a wave at the B.E.A.C.H. We are in need of kitchen help and help running the cameras and computers during the Worship Service. GriefShare

Have you recently experienced the death of a loved one? If you have, you know the many emotions of grief. If you need support during this difficult time of adjustment, you may want to be part of GriefShare. GriefShare explores the emotions of grief and shows you ways to cope with your loss as you move forward with your life. It also gives you a chance to talk with others that are going through the same challenges that you are experiencing.

A new 13-week GriefShare group meets Mondays, January 7–April 14, from 10–11:30 a.m. in the Chapel. If you are interested in being part of this group or you would like more information regarding the group, please call Pastoral Care at 750-4529.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers offer care and support for people experiencing life difficulties such as the death of a loved one, job crisis, aging, separation or divorce, long-term illness, or those needing the support of a Christian friend. Stephen Ministry is confidential. If you know someone who needs care and support, please call Bill Lee at 750-4529.

Wildwood Food Pantry

The Wildwood Food Pantry has a need for several able-bodied MEN to help our ministry. Most of the need is for men who can lift and carry bags of groceries, and be on their feet for three or four hours performing those duties. The normal days that we need  volunteers would be on Thursdays and Fridays. If we have enough men to volunteer, you would only be needed one or two days per month. If you are interested in being a part of the Food Pantry Team, call Marlene or Don Huggins at 753-7901.

As a new member participant, you will have the opportunity to meet our Pastors, ‘new friends’, Ministry Team representatives, and discussion leaders. Also, hear our church’s vision and mission, ask questions, learn what you can expect from New Covenant, and what is expected of the new member to become fully involved in this dynamic environment. We look forward to using our small group format to welcome new friends into their "Place to Call Home."

Did you ever wonder what "Elderhostel" was all about? The name has changed to 'Road Scholar,' but the concept of education and travel rolled into one remains the same. The program features an explanation of this popular program and we will have firsthand accounts from church members who have attended these programs.

As usual, the price of admission is a dish to serve
8 -10 people according to your last name beginning with:

  • A-H = Vegetables/Salads
  • I-T = Meat
  • U-Z= Desserts

The church will provide beverages, tableware, and serving utensils.

Learn to Handle Finances Better

Do you ever get to the end of the month and wonder where the money went?

Are you paying off Christmas or tax bills because you had not prepared in advance for them?

Do you have an emergency fund for unexpected expenses?

Would you like someone to help you prepare a spending plan or budget so that you have more control over where the money goes?

If your answer to any of the above
questions is yes, you may be pleased to know that we now have church members who have been trained to help with this type of planning. Please contact Steve Petherbridge at the church office if you would like to have someone meet with you. All discussions will be confidential.

Note: This is not crisis financial management or investment counseling. If you have need for that type of service, please seek the counsel of a professional.

A New Opportunity For You!

Those who attend New Covenant for the first time are visited by volunteers from our church. We give them a small gift bag and provide information about our church and its ministries. Our visits are short and we do not enter the home. We need volunteers who are willing to reach out and invite our guests back.
If you have a heart for this ministry, please call Chris Wile at 430-0668.
